How much caffeine is there in coke zero ? How much caffeine per every 8 oz? What about for a 20oz bottle? And does the caffeine amount change from regular coke to diet coke? thx!

Phat_Rabbit replied: "It should say the caffein content on the nutrition label of the bottle."

deos diet coke and normal coke have the same amount of caffeine? and if so please, what is the most caffienated drink there is?

mrbidsnss replied: "...i just know that they are really bad [too much sugar]"

Garacaius replied: "Yes / Jolt Cola"

$12 replied: "no the diet coke hass less"

Do you think that drinking 28 ounces of coffee and 1 to 3 Diet Coke's in one day is too much caffeine? I drink a 20 oz. coffee (Folger's Brand) on my way to work in the morning, followed by a 1- 2 cans of Diet Coke at lunch, a 8 oz. cup of coffee around 2 p.m., and one can at supper. I drink juices or water in between but I'm not sure what the daily alloted amount of caffeine is and if I'm going over it. I have no troubles sleeping or rising.

MEGAME replied: "I think that is to much."

vidya replied: "Yes, I think thats a lot..."

kjhnz306 replied: "Some scientist think to much caffeine will kill you, overall, yes that is a heap of caffeine"

Poet replied: "if you don't have any problems sleeping or waking i wouldn't worry about it. the 64 oz of fluid study included coffee as a fluid."

Brittany M replied: "Yeah, if you don't have an addiction already you may be developing one."

Jessica M replied: "yes that is way too much. your body doesnt even need caffeine at all. with the average american 12-24 ounces is consumed each day. each can is 12ozs if you drink about 3 a day thats already 36 + 28 ozs of coffee is 64 ozs. and this is way much more than you need. only reason your body is ok with it is because your used to it and drink that much every day. slowly cut down, it would be much healthier for you. maybe start with cutting the 20ozs to 12 ozs in the morning. then cutting that down more by only 2 cokes a day. then eventually to maybe 1 can of coke, and 1 cup of coffee a day. but if you do decide to do this, drag it out over a period of weeks because if not, you will go through withdraw."

Joycee replied: "yes"

Dark Amaranth replied: "No, as long as you are having no trouble sleeping or rising, you are just fine. Studies have proven that it takes far more caffeine than what you are consuming for it to be a problem or health concern. For people with a sensitivity to caffeine, it is a whole different matter. The only problem you may face is if you cut back. Then you will have headaches, most likely, for several days. There was a study that said you needed a certain amount of liquid per day, and it did include coffee and tea, as they are made with water. Of course, pure, clean water is best, but caffeine will not harm you in moderation. What you consume falls in the guidelines of "moderate"."

K. R. Thomas replied: "Yes, that is too much. Perhaps you should take a water bottle to work (my mother used to do this when she worked in the city) and fill it with Crystal Light or another favorite drink mix to "cool the jets" of your caffeine addiction. It isn't good for your health, and it may come back to haunt you...in way or another. I know this may not be much, but it could offer a viable suggestion. You might try lemonade, iced tea, or limeade for starters."

random replied: "that is way too much caffeine. that much can mess with your stomach and cause serious heartburn problems later down the line."

John replied: "that is way!!!!! tooo much"

ekc2me replied: "Caffeine is both my best friend and my worst enemy. Diet Mt. Dew is my favorite cold drink (although I can drink them hot I love them so much) and I drink lots of coffee. Besides causing irregular heartbeat, caffeine can have serious negative effects...one being HORRIBLE urinary tract infections!! I have one RIGHT NOW because DMD went on sale...5 twelve packs for $11...and I drank a whole 12 pack in two days. Yeah, that's a lot of caffeine. Be careful. :)"

Which contains more caffeine: Diet Coke or Diet Dr. Pepper? Or is it the same amount? I want to get the most bang for my can... I'm not kidding. you are fat, Tay Tay.

righteousjohnson replied: "Diet Coke, although there's not alot of difference."

TayTay replied: "caffeine makes you fat."

Elle replied: "Diet Coke has 45 milligrams. Dr. Pepper has 36."

BNP replied: "Coke, but not by much. Name..............Caffeine (mg) Diet Coke ......... 45 Diet Dr Pepper.. 41"

farhanbash replied: "i guess Diet Coke"

tim_whatleydds replied: "Diet Coke 47mg caffeine Diet Dr Pepper 41 mg caffeine"

iwonder replied: "you could get diet coke in a caffeine free version, just so you know"

keith_housand replied: "Visit the site I've listed to find out where you can get the most bang for your buck. It lists 47mg/12oz for DC and 44mg/12oz for DDP. Like all things caffeine is good for you in moderation, and if you're young enough, it's really good if taken to an extreme. I believe it has been established that you are young enough, so you might as well set up an IV drip of the stuff or see if you can score some crack caffeine. My experience is that not consuming caffeine or drugs is very bad for you. In people who don't consume any mind altering substances, I've noticed a propensity towards fascism and a desire to tell other people how to live their lives, both of which are decidedly unhealthy, and certainly undemocratic."

31 weeks and still consuming caffeine. How will this affect my baby when born? Im worried and have tried to cut down couple months ago, but I started to get irritable and cranky very easily, screaming at everything and everyone that I got frustrated with. Now a days, I consume caffeine on a daily basis. I drank diet coke and tea regularly before I got pregnant and still do, but I try to limit the amount of diet coke that I drink now. It seems like I need more and more caffeine each time to fend off that craving.

Jen, RN replied: "It depends on how much you're taking in. What does your OB say? I think the rule is no more than 200 mg of caffeine a day, according to March of Dimes "

petey12 replied: "As long you are limiting yourself as to how much caffeine you are having a day its okay. I have terrible heartburn and the only thing that is killing it is coke. I have one of those 100 calorie cans a day and it isn't hurting my daughter. Try to have one caffeine item a day and see how you do. Whether its tea in the morning, coke in the afternoon, chocolate after supper, try and limit yourself"

Reese W replied: "According to the American Pregnancy Association... " Experts and studies have stated that "moderate" levels of caffeine have not been found to have a negative effect on pregnancy. The definition of "moderate" varies anywhere from 150 mg - 300 mg a day." Here's a breakdown of caffeine amounts for average caffeinated drinks... Starbucks Grande Coffee (16 oz) 400 mg Starbucks House Blend Coffee (16 oz) 259 mg Dr. Pepper (12 oz) 37 mg 7 Eleven Big Gulp Diet Coke (32 oz) 124 mg 7 Eleven Big Gulp Coca-Cola (32 oz) 92 mg Ben & Jerry's Coffee Buzz Ice Cream (8 oz) 72 mg Baker's chocolate (1 oz) 26 mg Green tea (6 oz) 40 mg Black tea (8oz) 60 mg My Dr. told me that he didn't think there was anything wrong with me drinking Diet Coke, as long as it was just one or two a day. In fact, he made a joke along the lines of "You HAVE to keep drinking it!". Of course, all Doctors have different opinions and your Dr. might be totally against it, so I think your best bet is to talk to your OB or midwife. Congratulations and good luck to you and your baby!"

Navy Wife & 38 weeks pregnant!! replied: "I am 38 weeks 3 days and still consuming caffeine. I only drink two cans a day (one for lunch, one for dinner) and my OB said it was fine. I know how you feel about fending off a craving...I used to be an avid caffeine drinker before I got pregnant (5+ a day). Just limit your caffeine intake just like you are now and things should be just fine :)"

Shan replied: ""Heavy caffeine consumption (equivalent of more than 3 cups of coffee a day) is associated with low birth weight, miscarriage, and newborn withdrawal symptoms such as irritability or vomiting." (Child Development 7th Ed., Berk 2006) It sounds like you aren't consuming that much, but there are side effects. But it sounds like you are getting close to child birth anyway. Try to wean yourself off if you can, you are almost there. Just think of your baby."

Biscuit_Head replied: "You're baby will be fine, but you really need to try and get control of this. I know it's hard, believe me. You NEED to drink ALOT of water daily, for many reasons. Trust me. Just try try try to cut down more and more. It will benefit both you and your child. Good luck to you & congrats!!"

Will I have side effects when I give up caffeine? I drink about a 20 oz of diet coke per day. No caffeine on the weekends. Something I have a caffeine free diet pop or decaffeniated pop in the same day. I'm really determined to stop as I know pop is bad for me and I don't need caffeine in general. Is the amount I drink enough to make me have side effects from withdrawal?

srodri9 replied: "No. If you're able to last over the weekend without anything you'll be fine. 20 oz isn't enough to label you as an addict."

Is he really that darn STUPID replied: "I only drink one cup of coffee in the morning NO soda at all during the day and if I don't have that one cup I get a headache .. So I say ya you could"

opinionatedmedic replied: "Its possible. I drinkl alot more caffiene than you do and I can tell ya those headaches suck but then its not unbearable. Give it a few das and it will be gone."

SAM replied: "you're DEFIANTLY not an addict, you don't need to give up. One Red Bull which has more than that (and taurine and stuff), so no. You won't have any effects at all."

Caffeine free diet sodas? Not going to lie, I do love my Caffeine Free Diet Coke. Besides the possibility that diet sodas cause cancer; I've also heard that diet sodas can also make you gain weight. Even though there's no calories; the caffeine and sodium in it makes your body retain water--hense the weight. Is this true? How does that work with caffeine free diet sodas? I also heard that you can count a caffeine free soda as a hydrating beverage since it doesn't have the dehydrating caffeine in it. Even though any kind of diet sodas has all the chemicals in it; are caffeine free sodas less likely to cause water retention? I don't drink an excess amount--maybe a can every other day. I drink lots of water so it's not like I'm relying on this soda for hydration and I certainly don't drink it mmediately after workouts.

Michael replied: "Well my little sister drinks a lot of diet sodas and she is not at-all fat. Infact she is very skinny. Water retention is nothing to worry about. Salt causes it too. It's normal for your weight to fluctuate throughout the day. As long as you are drinking plenty of water, then I would not give your soda consumption so much as a second thought. I think you are currently looking too much into it."

tess replied: "Don't drink any soda, period. At least not on a regular basis, and especially not diet. There are so many chemicals in diet sodas. Do you know how diet soda works? Aspertame and other artificial sweeteners are actually toxins and are treated as such-- it isn't that they don't have any caloric value, they do! Its just that our bodies dispose of them completely, rather than absorbing the energy. Caffeine is actually a diuretic-- it causes the opposite of water retention, which is also bad for you in large quantities. Drink juice, it's yummier and healthier."

Gabe replied: "Tess is crazy. Diet cokes good. It tastes good, has no calories, and VERY low sodium. I dont retain any water, i stilll lose weight, and deffinatly not gain weight."

Caffeine Amounts - By Number? Does anyone know the caffeine difference between Regular Coke & Diet Pepsi. Serious replies only - not just what you "think" it is. Thanks :)

Deedee replied: "diet pepsi 12 oz - 36 mg classic coke 12 oz - 35 mg So 1 mg difference"

Does caffeine effect blood sugar levels....? I thought my blood sugar levels might be abnormal so i got a home monitoring kit which tells me what my levels are so i took my levels about 2 hours after eating and got 100mg/dl which is normal and then about 5 hours after first eating i took it again and got 70mg/dl which is normal right? Well i realized that 2 hours before i took the test i took a large amount of diet coke which had caffeine and during the 5 hours i took 3 or 4 cups of caffinated drinks, i then read that caffeine can make blood sugar levels higher. So basically, i got 70mg/dl which is the minimum and i had caffeine which could have raised it so does that mean i could be hypoglycemic? I know 70 is normal but it could have been fluked by the caffeine.

Kyree replied: "yes it does effect blood sugar levels. No your not hy poglycemic thats normal."

cricketlady replied: "It doesn't effect mine. Thank goodness."

thundershark replied: "Not really, just as long as there are no sugars in what you are drinking, like if you are drinking Coca-Cola or a bottle of starbucks iced coffee."

How long could i Live on this Diet? Ok, i know i wont be able to Last long, But don't people just go 'OH 2 DAYS BLAH BLAH BLAH' because ive been on ones Much Stricter so how long would i last on this; Breakfast: Diet Coke (Caffeine free) Lunch: Nothing. Snack: Nothing. Dinner/Tea: I'll be Having different Lowe Calorie stuff everyday Like for example. Baby button Mushrooms one day & Lettuce & Carrots another. Oh and if it does get to the stage where i Can hardly move I will have a 400 Cal meal and then continue the low diet again the next day. I will be going to the Gym and Losing different amounts but never under 400cals + I'll be Walking around with my friends and in town & at school running around & stuff when im not at the Gym so.

Whiplash replied: "If you value your health i highly suggest not doing this at all, but if you insist on doing it. I suggest you eat a Salad for lunch. People eat salad to loose weight because your body CANT digest salad. So basically your filling up your stomach and giving it the full feeling without actually eating anything with caloric value. This is just a suggestion so take it as you will."

Lorelei replied: "LOL. You won`t have the energy for the gym and running around. Your gums will loosen and make your teeth wobble, or make space for infections to get in. You`ll be grouchy and miserable, so what friends would you have. Your bed will stink, because you will lie in it, no energy to get up and moving. It`s a joke , yes?"

Breanna replied: "probably 2 months or 3. i did something similar... id drink sobe green tea and thats about it. i barely ever ate food unless my mom made me. i did that for about 3 months and i lost 56 pounds. i got so tired of not eating that i ate almost everything in my house and gained all the weight back in less than 2 months.so things like that never work out. diets don't work. so now im losing 1 to 2 pounds a week like im suppose to. which is good because i can actually eat food now."

Darknessxxxangel replied: "I tried going on an extremely strict diet, like, 3 years ago..and i did lose weight, but when i went back to normal, i ate even worse and gained double my previous weight (now i lost it all). so i quit doing diets, what i do now, is: eat normally (you don't have to cut down all your fav food, just eat less), but with lesser amounts of food each week (don't rush things) and you're going to lose weight + you'll be living normally (like you can eat whatever you want but, again, lesser than usual). advice: eat dinner like, at 6 pm, cuz it gives the stomach time to digest food by the time you go to sleep and so won't turn into fats. hope this helped ^_^"

Fifi L'amour replied: "Diet Coke, mushrooms lettuce and carrots. You realise that you will only consume about 200 calories per day, if that? I've never heard anything so ridiculous in my life. Stupid diets like this are a guaranteed way to give yourself health problems that will last for the rest of your life. If you want to lose weight, enrol with a reputable weight loss group like Slimming World or Weight Watchers. They will educate you about nutrition and make sure that you are losing weight in a healthy way. How long will you last on it? I give you a day at most before you get so hungry you can't think straight and give up. If you are idiotic enough to continue with this diet for more than one day, you will probably last until you get admitted to hospital with anorexia. And while I'm at it, google "basal metabolic rate" to find out why a 200 cal per day diet will eventually kill you."

Emily C replied: "i DO NOT recommend it, however my friend survived on 2 weeks of eating 2 bowls of musli with skimmed milk and an apple a day. She lost about a stone, even though she was really skinny anyway, went to the gym about 3 times a week. by the end of it she felt horrible and ill though it isnt a good idea x"
